Evenings of illumination and wonderment are back at Airlie Gardens, Wilmington, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from now through December 23rd, during the Second Annual Enchanted Airlie. Tickets must be purchased in advance. See their website or call (910) 798-7700.

Port Discover and the Museum of the Albemarle will hold a day-long science and history camp, Break-out!, for 3rd to 5th graders on Thursday, December 28. Reservations and details are available from Port Discover (252-338-6117) or Museum of the Albemarle (252-335-1453) in Elizabeth City. Port Discover will also host Second Saturday Science on December 9 with How Does It Fly?

Destination Moon is the Museum of Natural Sciences' Natural Horror Picture Show, showing on Friday, December 1 at the museum in downtown Raleigh. Admission is free -- see their website for more details.

The Greensboro Children's Museum is offering a free event from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5. Young guests are invited to come in their pajamas to celebrate the arrival of Disney's Pixar's Monsters Inc. on Ice characters to town. Visit their website for more information.

High Point Museum will hold its 23rd Annual Holiday Open House from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 3. Special reenactments, music, demonstrations and hands-on activities will be included. The current exhibit is Beyond the Pulpit: Faith and Community Action. See their website for more information.

The Cape Fear Museum of History and Science
