On October 4, the Sweet and Savory Bake Shoppe and Cafe will open at the Cameron Art Museum, Wilmington, offering breakfast and lunch Wednesday through Friday, brunch on Saturday and Sunday and, concurrent with museum programs, dinner on Fridays. And soon—wireless Internet!

Mackinac Island Press (Traverse City, MI) has released several new children's titles that may be of interest to museum bookstores. The Buck Wilder Series includes Who Stole the Animal Poop and The Work Bees Go on Strike; the PaleoJoe's Dinosaur Detective Series is for grades 1-6; Hidden Dinosaurs is a picture book joining Hidden Cherries and Hidden Pumpkins in a series.

The North Carolina Transportation Museum, Spencer, has shifted to its fall operating schedule for 2006 on-site train rides--at 11 a.m., 1, 2 and 3 p.m. on Saturdays, and 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. on Sundays.
